Here are some of the basic face shapes and hair style that flatter them:
Square face shape:
With this face shape, the key is to minimize your jawline. Haircuts like a chin-length, straight- curled under bob will only accent the sharp lines of you jaw. If you want a short to medium haircut, choose one that has height and is more rounded to help take away from the squareness of the face. Adding layers will also help soften and add fun movement.
If you like bangs: Stay away from blunt cuts. Opting for softer side-swept band will be a much more flattering option.
Haircuts: Stacked a-line, a short or medium cut with lots of whispy short layers.

Oval face shape:
The best part about having an oval face is the versatility. Basically any haircut will work on an oval face. The only thing you'll want to avoid is a haircut that hangs and covers up parts of the face. This will give the illusion that the face is more square. A bob at chin length is a great option for avoiding this problem.
If you like bangs: Giving the bangs a heavy, straight across look will shorten the oval shape.Side swept bangs will keep the beautiful oval shape.
Haircuts: Any haircut that doesn't cover the face. A-lines are particularly flattering to this face shape.
Round face shape:
Adding height to your roots will help to add length to a round face. Straighter, sleeker styles are the best option. Adding volume to the rest of your hair will only accentuate the roundness of the face.
If you like bangs: Generally speaking, bangs are not flattering for this face shape. If you insist on having bangs, adding height to the top of the hair will help elongate the face.
Haircuts: An on-trend pixie cut (such as Halle Berry or Michelle Williams), will add height to the face. A straight haircut (one that is long with longer layers), will also add length to the face. Avoid haircuts that are chin length, which will only add more roundness to the face.
Oblong face shape:
With a long face, shorter to medium styles are best since they help take away from the long face. Adding volume to your hair at the sides with layers or curls is the best style. Avoid adding height to the top, however, since it will only make your long face look longer.
If you like bangs: This face shape benefits most from having bangs. It breaks up the face giving it a shorter appearance. Straight across bangs work best for this shape.
Haircuts: A chin length bob or a-line with added volume is very flattering. If you love long, straight hair, make sure you have bangs to break up the look.
These are just some of the most common face shapes. If you still aren't sure what haircut and style will flatter you, feel free to call or email me for a consultation. We'll work together to find out what would work best for you.
